Acceptance
Acceptance is a key component of the
bellaSavio
Approach
TM
to weight loss, weight management, and wellness. Acceptance is all about learning to accept and like who you are. By accepting yourself, your body, and your body image, as you are, you will begin to treat your body in a more positive manner. Instead of focusing on how unhappy you are with your body and your inability to lose weight, learn to accept where you are today, knowing that positive changes can and will come.
Acceptance also means learning to address and come to terms with negative feelings and self-images. Your attitude and mental outlook have a big impact on your ability to achieve your weight loss and weight management goals. Replace negative thought patterns such as "I hate my body", with positive thoughts such as "I am worthy of achieving my weight loss and wellness goals". Having a positive attitude will help you to stay focused and motivated. You must learn to accept and like yourself and your body enough to stop destructive habits and behaviors.
Be aware that negative thought patterns will only sabotage your weight loss efforts. Take a minute and ask yourself, "Have my negative thoughts and feelings served me well thus far?" If the answer is "no", then now is the time to work through negative feelings and emotions. Now is the time to adopt a positive attitude and mindset. Keep in mind that positive results transcend from positive thinking and behaviors.
Acceptance is key to achieving your weight management and wellness goals.
